Dr. Ford Fu-Te Liao is President of the Taiwan Foundation for Democracy and research professor at the Institute of Law, Academia Sinica, Taiwan. He obtained his D.Phil. in Law from Oxford University, UK. He has previously served as Secretary General of the Taiwanese Society of International Law, Deputy Convenor of the Presidential Office Human Rights Consultative Committee, and Vice President of the Taiwan Association for Human Rights. His research interests focus on international human rights law and constitutional law. His recent publications include National Human Rights Commissions (Wu-Nan, 2011), International Human Rights Law’s Domestic Impacts (New Sharing Publishing Co., 2012), The United Nations and Human Rights Protections (Taiwan New Century Foundation, 2013), Right to Private Life (New Sharing Publishing Co., 2014), The Two United Nations Human Rights Covenants, (Taiwan New Century Foundation, 2014), and The Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (Taiwan New Century Foundation, 2017).
