Professor Jau-hwa Chen is currently director of Chang Fo-chuan Center for the Study of Human Rights and Master Degree Program of human rights at Soochow University. She was a member of 2017 judicial reform taskforce organized by president’s office and 2016 constitutional court simulation. Professor Chen was also a visiting scholar at the German Institute for Human Rights in Berlin. Originally trained as a philosopher, her major study is Kant’s philosophy of religion and practical philosophy at Bonn University, Germany. She teaches Kant’s philosophy, philosophy of human rights, topics related to transitional justice, Suffering and evil, Hannah Arendt and Judith Shklar.
