Shahnawaz Gull was born and brought up in Indian part of Jammu and Kashmir. He has completed his Masters and Master of Philosophy in Political Science from the University of Kashmir, India. Mr. Shahnawaz conducted research on the comparative study of Kashmir and Aland Islands Autonomies in his M.Phil dissertation. Currently he is doing PhD from the University of Kashmir. His doctoral research examines autonomy as a shared sovereignty tool for the conflicts like Kashmir. Moreover his research areas include shared sovereignty, conflict resolution, Autonomies, Multilevel Goverence, Power Sharing, Peace Processes and Human Rights. Currently his main research interest is to find out how conflict management in conflict situations has brought down the human rights violations drawing from different case studies like Northern Ireland? He has also been part of many research projects. Shahnawaz has also been teaching political science in the state government education department.
